Alexander W. Wellford Jr.
Mr. Wellford's practice concentrates in the areas of general corporate law, employment discrimination and other litigation, and estate planning. In addition, he serves as outside counsel or advisor to the board of directors of several local businesses. Mr. Wellford received his AB Degree from Princeton University and his Juris Doctor from Yale University. In 1983, he was the recipient of the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award as Outstanding Young Lawyer. He has been designated a Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 31 Mediator, and has been appointed to the mediation panel for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. Mr. Wellford is a past president of the Memphis Bar Association (1993), and trustee at Memphis University School (1985-2011) and "Volunteer of the Year" (2010). He is also a member of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations, and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Tennessee Bar Foundation. |
